CATHEDRAL choir members will swap hymns for Prog-rock when they back Jethro Tull star Ian Anderson later this week (December 14).
Ian Anderson and Friends will give a Christmas concert at St Nicholas’ Cathedral, in Newcastle, in aid of Cathedral funds.
The show will include carols, classical music and Jethro Till tracks, including Aqualung with a Cathedral organ introduction.
Mr Anderson said: “I’m not a true blue Christian but I support the Church and value our great traditions of faith and worship.
“I value the architectural heritage of an age which will not come again. Once the roof falls in, it will turn into a block of flats or a Starbucks.”
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets can be booked by calling The Sage Gateshead on 0191-4434661.
