A UNIVERSITY has refused to comment on its students pouring bottles of port over themselves in what has become an Internet phenomenon.
‘Porting Durham’, a three-minute film showing young men pouring fortified wine over themselves in well-known locations around Durham City, has been watched on Internet video website YouTube more than 60,000 times.
A spokesman for the group said it was an attempt to go one better than rival Newcastle University students, whose ‘milking’ video, in which they pour milk over their heads, has attracted more than 500,000 hits.
However, Porting Durham cancelled an interview scheduled for today (December 10) and a spokesman said they no longer wished to discuss the matter with the press.
A Durham University spokesman said it had no comment to make on the issue.
