A CAMPAIGN to remember loved ones who lost their lives to cancer is being held at Durham Cathedral this evening. (Sunday, December 9)
St Cuthbert’s Hospice’s Light up a Life campaign is one of the charity’s most loved and anticipated annual events.
It give people the chance to remember a loved one at Christmas time by making a donation to St Cuthbert’s in their memory.
Everyone who donates receives a commemorative card and photo star to remember their loved one and their name is also entered into a book of remembrance, which will be dedicated at a special service at 6.30pm.
Aimee Low, communications co-ordinator at St Cuthbert’s Hospice said: “As the days grow shorter and winter approaches, this season can be a poignant time for those who are missing a friend or a loved one.
“Light up a Life offers people the opportunity to celebrate and remember someone special to them, at this festive time of year.
“It’s chance for the local community to join together and support each other, as well as their local hospice.”
