POLICE have given visually-impaired readers an early Christmas present.
Northumbria Police supplied reading groups in Sunderland with a wide variety of talking books.
The books will be used by three visually-impaired reading groups at Sunderland City Library, Houghton Library and Washington Town Library.
The books will also be available at a young people’s reading group Sunderland Libraries runs with Sandhill View School at Sandhill Centre Library.
Sunderland Charities Fund trustee Paul Andre said: “The Charities Fund was pleased to be able to help these reading groups which provide such a vital service to the local community.”
