COUNCIL staff and politicians have raised almost £1,000 for a breast cancer charity.
Durham County Council officers and members wore pink for a full council meeting in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. A cake sale was also held at Durham’s County Hall.
Council chairman Linda Marshall, who organised the fundraiser, said: “It proved a great success.
“We ended up raising £320 from the cake sale and wear it pink campaign.
“A further £669 came from staff and I am absolutely delighted that we’ve been able to raise such vital funds towards breast cancer research.
“My thanks go out to everyone who was involved.”
