PEOPLE have been given more time to comment on a council’s economic masterplan.
A general public consultation on Durham County Council’s County Durham Plan, which council chiefs say is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the county into a regional economic powerhouse, was due to end today (November 2).
However, it has been extended by three weeks to Monday, November 26.
The decision was taken because a linked consultation exercise, focused on 17,000 households in areas directly affected by proposals in the document, was due to continue until the later date.
The Plan envisages 29,000 new homes and 16,000 new jobs in County Durham by 2030.
