A PEDESTRIAN who died when he was hit by several cars while walking along a busy road during rush hour has now been named by police.

Gary Roy Robison, a 39-year-old from Acomb, York, died last Tuesday as he walked along the A166 Stamford Bridge road near Dunnington.

Police have also renewed their appeal for information following the death and, in particular, they would like to speak to a cyclist who was riding along the A166 heading out of York. His cycle is described as having a very bright front light with a blue tinge.

They would also like to hear from anyone else who was travelling along the A166 near Dunnington between 5pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday.

Mr Robinson died after being struck by a number of vehicles on the York-bound carriageway near the Church Balk turn-off.
