A TEENAGER is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car in the early hours of this morning.
The 19-year-old collided with a small silver coloured hatch back at 2.27am on the Great North Road, Newcastle.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene and he man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
He is currently in a critical condition and his injuries are thought to be life threatening.
Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident, three men aged 20 and two women both aged 21.
Anyone who was in the Great North Road area of Newcastle in the early hours of this morning, or anyone who may have seen a silver hatch back anywhere near the location of the incident is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
