THE owner of an expensive sports car is being sought by police after a hit-and-run smash in North Yorkshire.

The Porsche Boxster struck a blue Vauxhall Astra parked on Valley Road, Scarborough, in the early hours of Sunday.

The Astra was spun 90 degrees by the impact and was written off but the Boxster failed to stop.

Officers are making enquiries to locate the owner of the Porsche and are appealing to anyone with information about the collision to come forward.

In particular police would like to hear from garages who have been asked to repair a damaged Porsche Boxster recently.

Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option two2 – and ask for Gareth Gilleard.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800-555-111.
