RESIDENTS in Wolsingham are being invited to explain what affect flooding has had on them.

Durham County Council is organising a meeting with residents to gather information on local flooding.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 14, between 6pm and 7pm at the town hall in Wolsingham market place.

While some information has already been gathered from the recent flooding, as much as possible is required to help investigations into flood prevention in future.

At the session there will be representatives from Durham County Council’s drainage team, the Area Action Partnership, the Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water as well as the council’s community flood engagement officer.

There will also be an opportunity to see samples of some of the types of flood defences which are available to protect properties.

Once all of the information has been gathered and investigated, feedback will be provided to members of the public.

Durham County Council is the lead local flood authority and is responsible for undertaking investigations into incidents of flooding.
