DETAILS have been announced of an annual Concert of Remembrance.

Featuring the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment, it will take place at the Seaburn Centre, in Sunderland on Saturday, November 10.

Others taking part include the Band and Bugles of Durham Army Cadet Force, Durham-based soprano Jessica Holmes and Castletown Primary School Choir, winner of The City Sings 2012 competition.

A prayer will be read during the concert by Len Gibson, a former Prisoner of War in the Far East.

Mayor of Sunderland, Counc Iain Kay said: "Members of Her Majesty’s Forces will be participating in this Concert of Remembrance alongside the Standards of the Royal British Legion and Emergency Services.

"This is as we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the peace and freedom we have today.

"The citizens of Sunderland are always extremely proud to honour those who have served in Her Majesty’s Forces."

Tickets, priced £6, are available from Sunderland City Council, the City Library and Arts Centre, in Fawcett Street, and the Customer Service Desk, at The Bridges Shopping Centre.
