AN appeal has been made for information after a stolen car was destroyed in a garage fire.
A wooden garage at the rear of Vyner Street, in Close House, Bishop Auckland, was set on fire at 2.45pm on Monday, October 22.
Inside the garage was an orange Dodge Caliber car, that had been stolen from a commercial garage in Darlington in the early hours of September 29.
Both the car and the garage were seriously damaged in the blaze.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in relation to the garage or who may have seen the vehicle in the local area.
Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency 101 number and ask for Bishop Auckland serious crime team or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
