THE Duchess of Northumberland has launched her own collection of country clothing.

She has agreed a deal with Alan Paine Knitwear to create country clothing under her brand and will also release a series of books.

'The Duchess Collection,' will be ready for next year's Autumn and Winter season and includes a broad range of garments, new designs and fabrics.

It follows the launch earlier this year of her 'Capsule Collection.'

The Duchess, married to Ralph Percy, the 12th Duke of Northumberland, has also signed up with specialist publisher The History Press to release two new gift books, The Duchess of Northumberland's Little Book of Preserves and Jams and Little Book of Poisons and Potions next summer.

Further titles based on the extensive archive material  at her Alnwick Castle home will follow.

The two deals are the first brokered for the Duchess by DCD Publishing. Further deals under discussion include a health and beauty range and a heritage food range.

The Duchess is pursuing new ventures because, after 2015, the hugely successful Alnwick Garden tourist attraction which she created, will be franchised out to an external business operator.
