MIDDLESBROUGH fans will be kept back after the Capital One Cup tie at Sunderland on Tuesday, October 30.
This is to allow home supporters to clear so police can escort them safely – using the barrier system - to their coaches and Metro trains.
A Boro contingent of 2,800 is expected. They will be in the Stadium of Light’s new away section, the top tier of the North Stand.
Northumbria Police say that maintenance work will limit the number of trains on the overground and Metro networls They are advising supporters to travel on official club coaches .
Extra Northumbria, British Transport Police and Cleveland police officers will monitor Metros and trains.
Roads are expected to be busy on the evening. and fans are being urged to allow plenty of time for their journey.
