A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after an accident on a busy road.
The woman, who is in her late 50s, was involved in a collision with a Rover car in Durham Road, Blackhill, this afternoon (Wednesday, October 24).
She was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham for treatment, although police said her injuries are not believed to be serious.
The driver of the Rover, a man in his mid 60s, was unhurt in the accident, which happened shortly after noon today.
The road was closed for an hour between Derwent Street and Queen’s Road while accident investigators examined the scene.
