YOUNG people can sign up for a proof of age card at a drop-in session in Stanley this month.
ID4U is a convenient way for young people to prove their age when they wish to buy certain goods and services.
The cards also provide retailers with a reliable means of ensuring customers are old enough to make a purchase.
Durham County Council has developed the cards, which are aimed primarily at people aged between 14 and 25-years-old, by working alongside Durham Constabulary.
The cards will be available during a drop-in session at the Louisa Centre on Front Street, on Monday, October 29 between noon and 4pm.
Anyone wishing to sign up for a card must bring along a valid passport, driving licence or PASS accredited card.
Alternatively, they will need a ‘verifier’ to complete part of the application form. Verifiers must be over 25-years-old and know the applicant personally.
For more information or to download an application form, visit www.durham.gov.uk or call the council’s Safer Neighbourhood Unit on 0300-123-7070.
