DODDS Thomas William Better known as "Tommy" Husband of his late wife Gwen. Sadly passed away in Durham University Hospital at 11.30am on Wednesday 19th June aged 94 years, after a long illness bravely borne, peacefully and without pain with his immediate family around him. His funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Church, West Cornforth (on The Green) at 10.45am on Wednesday 10th July, all welcome followed by a service at Durham Crematorium at 12.00noon. Then back to the Community Centre, West Cornforth his 2nd home for refreshments. As this will be a celebration of his life and his achievements within the village, we request that NO BLACK or DARK clothing to be worn, cheerful colours only. Family flowers only with all donations going to Cancer Research. I would like to pass on mine and the family's grateful heartfelt thanks for all the cards, emails and telephone calls of condolence and especially all the messages placed on Facebook for my dad over the last few days which showed the high esteem he was held in.
