Anne LINDLEY

LINDLEY 12th June, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Anne, aged 87, of Newton Aycliffe. Beloved wife of the late John Lindley, dearly loved mam of Christine and Pamela, cherished gran of Amanda, Mark, Caroline and Lisa, also a loving great-gran. Funeral service will take place on Monday 8th July. Would family and friends please meet at 11.30 a.m., for a service at Wear Valley Crematorium, Coundon. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu may be made after the service for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Nurses.

Anne was a great keep fitter and joined Anne Brown's, Sugar Hill school keep fit class during the mid 1980's until around 1996 when the class closed and they joined Veronica's class at St. Thomas's. She attended many recreationall weekends at Bede College from 1987 to 2005, and as a member of the Keep Fit Association she took part in many Panoramas from 1988 to 2006. These included 'Mame' in 1995, 'Blues Club Swingers in 1997, Purple Mirage in 1999,, A Touch of Class in 2004, and Harmony in 2006. She was also in the Albert Hall 50+ Team, London in 1991; she took part in the National Competitions at Blackpool in 2001; and was there at Darlington's 50th Anniversary Celebration. Anne retired her membership in 2014 after health problems effected her eyesight. We remember Anne as a quiet, unassuming, and modest lady, and missed her very much after she retired from keep fit.
