NICHOLSON Julia Ann (née Beck) Died peacefully on January 11, aged 94, at Bishopsgate Lodge Care Home, Bishop Auckland, late of Church Square, High Etherley. Julia trained as a teacher in Bristol and completed her career as head of the new nursery school in Crook in the 1970s. After retirement in 1985 she travelled the world and was enthusiastically involved in High Etherley WI and town twinning. She was a generous stepmother to Susan and a fond aunt for Anthony Beck. Funeral service at St Cuthbert's Church, High Etherley, on Thursday 1st February 2024 at 11.00am after which Julia will be privately buried in Sedbergh, Cumbria, where she was born and according to her wishes. Friends please meet at church and afterwards at Etherley Cricket Club for refreshments. Family flowers only.
