THORNTON November 1, of Spennymoor, formerly of many other areas of the North East and The Lake District. Herbert William (Bill), aged 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Anne (nee Hunt, of Bishop Auckland), adored dad of Sam and Ali, dear brother to Pauline and Pat, treasured grandad to Hal, Elle and Frankie, respected father-in-law of Ian and Richard, also a dear uncle and great-uncle and cousin. Bill will be sadly missed by all his lovely neighbours, who the family are so grateful to for all their help and loving care of Bill over the years. The funeral service will take place at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church on Monday 20th November at 11:30am, followed by cremation at Wear Valley Crematorium at 12:30pm. No flowers please by family request. Donations in lieu of flowers if desired for Marie Curie Nurses.
