BURGESS Georgina (Gina) Nee Mounter Late of Ivanhoe Garage, Sadberge Passed away peacefully in the care of St Teresa's Hospice on Friday 20th October 2023, aged 99 years. Devoted and beloved wife of the late David William, dearly loved mam of Ian and daughter-in-law Ruth, loving gran of Alex, his wife Tracey, Rachel and her husband Stuart, a special great-gran to Isabel and Jessica, also a dearly loved aunt and friend. Will friends please meet for a service at Darlington Crematorium on Monday 6th November at 2.00pm. At Gina's request, no flowers please, and please wear an item of colour for the service. Donations, in lieu of flowers to St Teresa's Hospice, collection plate at the service.

I worked at the Ivanhoe Garage in the 1960s for a couple of years as a petrol pump attendant at the weekends, while I was still at school. Gina (or Mrs Burgess as she was to me then) used to bring me in for meals, sitting at the table with the rest of the family - David, Gina, David's parents and Ian. I remember them all well and also Mrs Burgess's scrumptious Sunday dinners which she would put in the oven to keep warm if I had to go out and serve a customer. I remember her as a warm-hearted, kind and welcoming woman who treated me like one of the family. Neil Wastell
