John MOORLEY

I was at school with John back in the 1960’s. He was a good friend. The last time I saw him was mid 1970’s in Doncaster just before he went to the LSE. He had discovered 'Real Ale' and insisted we try it out at the Coach and Horses, which according to John no doubt after painstaking research, was the only place in Doncaster where you could get the stuff.
John moved to London and I eventually ended up in Ireland and we lost touch. I discovered from another school friend, who had met John at a cricket match that he was living in Darlington. I reconnected with John almost a year ago after I was told about his illness. We emailed each other and had several very long phone calls. When the emails stopped I suspected the worse and eventually I got the bad news.

I was very sad to hear of John’s passing. He was a 'good bloke’ as he used to say about say about some of our mutual friends.

My sincere condolences to Joan, her family and his cousins and their families.

Thinking of the many happy times we shared during our childhood which carried on into our adult life. Enjoying more happy family parties and celebrations with our partners and the next generation. Always appreciating your jovial company.
