Angus Alexander MILLAR

MILLAR Angus Alexander formerly of Houghall, passed away peacefully on 16th June, aged 94 years. Beloved husband of the late Joan, dearly loved dad of Gill, Peter, Leslie and David, much loved father-in-law and grandad. Would family and friends please meet for a service at Darlington Crematorium on Thursday 13th July at 2.00pm. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to the Alzheimer's Society.

Angus taught me Dairy Management in my first year at Houghall in his retirement year in 1988 after a long tenure at the college. I still fondly remember his wonderful larger than life presence, Scottish lilt and reading from Robbie Burns at the college Burns Night and wrestling a calf that knocked him over but he did not let go!. Angus played a part in inspiring me to become a lecturer at Houghall after university in Newcastle and Canada and in October I will have been teaching there for 25 years.
