SHORTLAND February 3rd, John of Coundon, aged 75 years, peacefully at home in the loving care of Freda. Beloved son of the late John and Margaret Shortland. Former teacher at Timothy Hackworth School. Friends please meet for a service in St. James Church, Coundon on Thursday 23rd February at 10:45am followed by burial in Coundon cemetery. Donations in memory of John, if desired may be left in Church for Church funds.

So many happy hours playing cricket together in the farmer’s field near your parents house when we were boys. The days seemed long and golden then and our Test Matches historic… and sharing Wisden. Enjoy your peace.
