McKENNY Died January 18th peacefully in hospital, of Spennymoor. Geoffrey aged 80 years. Was loved by all his family and friends. Would relatives and friends please meet at St Charles RC Church, Tudhoe, on Wednesday 8th February at 2:15pm for a Requiem mass followed by a committal at Durham Crematorium

I’m sorry that I was not aware of Geoff’s passing. I worked with him, played tennis with him and even had a tennis holiday with him and Peter Storey when I was about 20.; I’m 20 years his junior. He introduced me to Bishop Auckland Tennis Club which changed the course of my life., as still play and am in 2 tennis clubs - Durham and Jesmond. A lovely man with a great sense of humour!
