ORGANISERS and employers alike have said a jobs fair organised by The Northern Echo was a resounding success.
It is estimated that nearly 1,500 people from across the region visited Darlington's Dolphin Centre for the jobs fair yesterday. It is the 12th jobs fair organised by the paper and more than 20 employers and employment agencies took stands.
Tracy Woodcock, The Northern Echo's classified category manager, said: "It's been absolutely fantastic and really busy all afternoon.
"We think there will probably have been about 1,500 people paying a visit."
Niki Baxter, the director of Baxter Personnel, said: "We've had an excellent response, the footfall's been brilliant.
"Within the first half-hour we had 32 applications filled in, from a very broad spectrum of people."
A jobs fair supplement went out with yesterday's Northern Echo. For those who missed it, the publication is available online at www.thenorthern echo.co.uk
