BRITISH Airways yesterday said it was creating about 40 jobs to strengthen its IT team in the North-East.
The company, which already employs 300 staff at its offices at Newcastle Business Park, is holding a recruitment fair next month to fill positions including technical architects, business architects, and business and process analysts.
Paul Binks, senior manager at British Airways in Newcastle, said: "We are committed to developing our IT centre in the North-East and that is why we are keen to recruit the best talent from the region.
"We know the smart use of technology is central to British Airways, and our competitiveness, so we are keen to meet people with specialist skills in the field of IT design, delivery and support at the recruitment fair."
BA, which has received support from One NorthEast, will host the fair at St James' Park, Newcastle, between 11am and 9pm, on Friday, June 8, and from 9am to 5pm, on Saturday, June 9.
