Her caption to a picture of the wonderfully complex Guinness Clock (1955) recalls: “I took some of my blind friends to ‘see’ it and they were allowed to touch it as well as hear the extraordinary sounds it produced.’’ Clearly more fun than a sensory garden.
Could Whitby persuade Guinness to re-create it?
