RODNEY Wildsmith from Great Ayton has sent in this postcard showing some splendidly dressed railwaymen standing on the footplate of a North Eastern Railway C class locomotive.
He said: "They’re in smart suits, complete with Albert gold chains, and polished shoes, so they are not in working clothes.
"The Edwardian postcard has 'Mr N Wilson, 24 Stamp Street, Stockton' pencilled on the rear."
Rodney also adds: "The two lamps above the buffer beam indicate an 'express passenger train', although that may be a little optimistic with this loco."
So who can tell us any more about the loco or the photograph?
