In the picture below almost nothing has changed since it was taken in August 1965, but look at the little bits of life it captures: the coal lorry at the front, the teenagers lounging on the windowsill bottom left, the old men on the bench outside the church, the motorcycle and sidecar underneath the scaffolding, the one-man shed outside the Market Tavern and the large bus queue under shelter beneath the man on his horse.
