DO you recognise anyone in these two photographs?
A Northern Echo reader got in touch and supplied us with the images of two football teams, which were taken roughly between 1920 and 1940.
The first shows a team wearing plain shirts posing with a trophy in front of the Hope Inn pub, in Yarm Road, Darlington.
Can you help identify the team and the trophy? Was it a local competition run in the town?
Names which may jog people’s memories are Metcalf and Scrafton, the former used to live on Ridsdale Street, near St John’s Church, in Darlington.
The second picture shows a team wearing stripes, and the owner of the photograph believes it was taken in Guisborough and includes Fred and Vic Jeffries, who are both sitting in the front row.
If you recognise any of the players or officials in the photographs, or have information about the teams, please get in touch through the email address above.
