Well another weekend and another game postponed. The lads were gutted that it was off but we are still in a strong position and focused on what we need to do when the weather does improve. We have a few games to catch up but there is a long way to go from now and to the end of the season.
As the game was off we played a friendly match against Billingham Synthonia which gave us some match fitness.
Nathan Cartman eased himself in nicely with a hat-trick and looked sharp. I could have got myself a hat-trick on another day, but instead I chose not to have one shot on target throughout the game or in fact one shot.
Saturday night was entertaining. For anyone who doesn't know Chris Hunter is getting married in February so we had his stag do in Newcastle. There were a few old Shildon lads out as well as myself, Army, Dowson and Browny. Leon Scott was supposed to come but I'd earlier asked him to cover some modelling shoot I'd committed to. Had he not covered me I'd have been unable to attend so thank you for that Leon. It was a brilliant night and Chris came away unscathed. Here is a picture of the happy couple...
Just to finish off I'd like to say well done to Christopher Mason who competed in a fitness competition at the weekend in the MEN Arena in Manchester. Chris, or ‘Dizzy’ as his friends call him, did really well and more than held his own against the fittest people in the country.
Hopefully next week I will have a game to talk about and then it's a huge game for the club the week after.
