IT'S not everyday that Indiana Jones aka Harrison Ford rocks up to your local cafe on a pedal bike, but that's exactly what happened in North Shields today.
The Hollywood star is currently in the region filming for the fifth instalment of the Indiana Jones series and he surprised diners at the The Ship's Cat fish restaurant on Union Road this afternoon.
This image of him arriving at the cafe in his cycling lycra has gone viral on social media this evening, with thousands sharing the photo.
Mr Ford and the filming crew have had a busy few days in the North-East and North Yorkshire.
Over the weekend they were shooting scenes along the North York Moors Railway and they are currently Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland which is closed until next Monday for the filming.
A simulated explosion has been seen at the castle as part of the shoot.
Whilst they remain tight-lipped about the movie, managers at both attractions will have been keen to allow the sites to be used as film locations, with income limited since last spring due to the coronavirus lockdowns.
Crew members have been at Bamburgh Castle for the past few days transforming it into a film set - with barbed wire props on the surrounding walls and using a crane to lift equipment into position.
It is understood that the director James Mangold has been in Northumberland doing a recce of the area, in preparation of scenes being shot at the castle.
Disney has said Indiana Jones 5 should hit cinemas in July 2022, though a UK release date has not been confirmed.
