FREDDIE Mercury died just months before he could perform the title song from this album at the 1992 Olympics in Spain. Had he been well enough, this reworking of the album with the renowned Spanish operatic soprano is understood to be how he would have recorded it. Using full orchestra, namely the Prague FILMharmonic, replaces the previous keyboard.
Mercury would have been 66 around the time of the album’s release, whether it replicates his vision will never be known.
