DEFINITELY a touch of the Nina Simone here, but with more zest.
A reincarnation of the old-time dance-hall, a jazzy Forties’ flapper number, but delivered with more vocal energy in an attempt to make it contemporary.
I get the impression that this lady is able to impersonate a range of older-thanher- years dance-styles through the wonders of song, which is a talent in itself.
Although this track offers little more than a typical reminder of the feather boa era, we don’t really get to hear it much these days and it’s already caught the attention of those clever commercial pluggers from Sky TV.
