ONE of indie rock’s greatest success stories and multi Grammy-nominated quartet, Death Cab for Cutie have recently released their hugely anticipated new album Codes And Keys.
It was mixed by the brilliant Alan Moulder, who has worked with the likes of My Bloody Valentine and Nine Inch Nails, and marks the first all new Death Cab For Cutie release since 2006.
Codes And Keys is less driven by guitars than previous albums, allowing space for piano lines and broad washes from violins and cellos.
The album overflows with moments of joy – the guitar hook that sings through top track You Are a Tourist recalls the Stone Roses’ She Bangs the Drum and Modest Mouse’s Float On, a riff worth its weight in radio gold.
During the last decade, Death Cab have established a die-hard fan base, who are no doubt already all over this remarkable album. Out now.
