ELVIS Costello believed, somewhat unfairly, Morrissey always wrote the best song titles but in doing so forgot to write the song.
Had the Liverpool musician made that statement today then it would be hard to argue – if judging his last two solo studio albums.
So it is quite refreshing to listen to some old gems from Manchester frontman’s back catalogue. Admittedly, Sunny, Moon River and Interlude, sang with Siouxsie Soux, are decidely mediocre , but the 15 other tracks on the album more than make up for those shortcomings.
