A LISTENER to my American Connection show on euvue.co.uk e-mailed me to recommend listening to an artist called Sierra Hull.

As a result, I played three tracks from her new release as Album Of The Week. From the opening track, All Because Of You, through to the final strains of Wouldn’t Matter To Me it is sheer class.

Hull is 19 and made her debut at the age of eight, and released Angel Mountain at the age of ten. Her second album was recorded when she was 15, and having been produced by Alison Krauss was released when she was 16.

Of the 12 tracks here, she has written seven and created a treat for anyone with a musical ear. She is also a virtuoso on the mandolin, which can be appreciated by the listener and fellow musicians. The album moves from songs of relationships through to lost loves lost to allow Hull to show off her playing skills with a couple of fast-moving instrumentals. This is an impeccable project and it has just been announced that the video of one of the songs, Easy Come, Easy Go, which was aired on March 7, has been viewed by over 73,000 fans at CMT.com.
