Cluny-bound: The Go! Team are in Newcastle on February 6
DESPITE the title The Go! Team prove there’s still plenty of electricity coursing through their bodies.
Announcing itself with a Beastie Boysesque bang, Rolling Blackouts reestablishes the Brighton band as one of best kept secrets in British music.
As we have come to expect, there’s a mish-mash of all manner of different styles, but far from being thrown around willy nilly, they are instead woven together like some magnificent musical tapestry.
All tracks have something about them, but Apollo Throwdown stands out for me, so rich is its sound and so catchy are its lyrics.
Roll on summer, but if you can’t wait until then catch The Go! Team at Newcastle’s Cluny on February 6.
