ONE of my claims to fame is that I once spent a week staring longingly into Vicki Butler-Henderson’s eyes. She didn’t realise and will long have forgotten the gawky work experience lad who sat across the way from her at a now defunct motoring magazine all those years ago.

She’s come a long way since then and is now a regular on TV shows across a number of channels. Not just a pretty face, VBH knows her stuff and her tomboy presentational style comes across equally as well in this medium.

She’s not exactly breaking new ground with this coffee table offering, but at least it has the personal touch. Instead of just recounting the facts and figures of her favourite motors, VBH reflects on the time she spent with them during filming and the like. It’s packed with photographs, many featuring the author herself, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your viewpoint. The list of cars features some fairly obvious, some slightly obscure and some particularly questionable, such as the Ford Escort RS Cosworth, which is to sexiness what Anne Widdecombe is to dancing.
