I’m sure the last shot hasn’t been fired for Trace Adkins. This album contains 28 tracks all of which have entered the Top Forty in the charts.
While with Capitol, he produced eight studio albums in 13 years. On this double CD set he includes debut release Dreamin’ Out Loud in 1996. Tracey Darrell ‘Trace’ Adkins has proved his worth to the country fraternity as all but one of his studio albums have received gold or platinum certification in the States. Not bad for a man who lost his little finger on his left hand when it was sliced with a knife, and, at his request, was reattached at an angle in order that he could continue to play guitar.
In 2008, he won a Grammy for the Best Male Country Performance and the Best Country Song for You’re Gonna Miss This which is included in this collection along with one of my personal favourites, the tongue in cheek Marry for Money.
There’s a great selection of songs with vocal brilliance and magical musicianship throughout and is worthy of a place in anyone’s record collection.
It is an album with so much many moods that you’ll listen to it over and over again. Sheer Class.
