SINCE they formed in 2004, American rock band Alter Bridge, hailing from Florida, have built up a loyal fan-base through relentless touring, selling more than a million albums and are in the process becoming one of the most respected rock bands in the world.
Alter Bridge is fronted by Myles Kennedy, who also fronts Slash’s touring band, and who is an incredible performer with a classic sense of attitude and a fresh introspective sensibility.
In addition, he has a phenomenal voice that leaps straight into action.
The band launched into a fast-paced set packed full of riff after riff, huge chorus after huge chorus, and quite staggering guitar work from Mark Tremonti. Their set consisted of many tracks from their three albums, especially recently released album AB III.
It is an album of stark contrasts and offers a feast of listening experiences. Come To Life, Buried Alive and Words Darker Than Their Wings are welcomed with a deafening applause and the songs burst with rhythm and razor sharp riffs.
A dark elegance is apparent making the songs vulnerable and vibrant.
Alter Bridge collectively shine on the dynamic Ghost of Days Gone By, that holds a chemistry hardly seen these days. Rise Today rocks a solid rhythmic foundation that keeps the grooves impenetrable and infectious and closes the show in good style. Four words: A stellar live performance.
