AS I've said before Willie Nelson may have recorded more songs than any other artist alive. Shrugging off the mantle of being told what to do from the Nashville moguls in the early Seventies, Nelson decided to do things his way and was branded as an 'Outlaw'.

Ironically it's a name that he still wears proudly today. It was around this time that he recorded for Atlantic Records and now three decades later we are treated to this three disc collection set.

Groundbreaking albums, Shotgun Willie and Phases and Stages are remastered and complimented with a live album recorded at the Texas Opry House in Austin in 1974.

Disc One contains 24 tracks including Shotgun Willie and the song that has opened his show over the last 30 years, Whiskey River. Disc Two, with Phases and Stages offers various versions of the title track and plus around ten tracks previously unissued. On Disc Three his live show classics include Me and Paul, Stay All Night, The Party's Over, Whiskey River and a medley including Funny How Time Slips Away, Crazy and Night Life and the hard driving Good Hearted Woman.
