A PICTORIAL insight into the many faces of China has gone on display at a North-East museum.
The exhibition, at the Oriental Museum, in Durham City, is titled In China and includes a diverse range of photographs by US photographer Aaron Schuman.
It will be on display at the museum, in Elvet Hill, until September 29.
A spokesman for the museum said: "The range of photographs provides a portrait of contemporary China with images ranging from the Tibetan plateau to the sacred mountain Taishan to the bustling metropolises of Bejing and Shanghai.
"The exhibition highlights the diverse human face of this vast, dynamic and varied country where expressions of the ancient past sit alongside the latest and brashest examples of 21st Century life."
Museum education officer Edith Nicholson said: "This is a really exciting opportunity for visitors to the Oriental Museum to see at firsthand the work of this exciting young photographer.
"His work captures the human side of the momentous changes which China is undergoing."
