KENNY Rogers this year celebrates 50 years in the world of entertainment and a three-disc boxset is shortly to be available which includes more than 40 of his hits.
Entitled: Kenny Rogers: The First Fifty Years (Time Life) it’s released on February 1.
There are original versions of his biggest hits from Ruby to duets with Dolly Parton, Sheena Easton, Kim Carnes, Ronnie Milsap, Don Henley, Dottie West, Anne Murray, Gladys Knight and Travis Tritt.
Rogers has recorded more than 65 albums, sold over 105m copies and, at one point, sold more than one million records every month for 26 straight months. Four Grammy awards, numerous American Music awards and 11 awards from the Country Music Association of America followed. It is a magnificent release from an artist of longevity who has crossed all the boundaries to give awareness to country music over the last five decades. If you’re a Kenny Rogers fan you’ll love it.
