AFTER one of the most memorable Formula One season in history, here are three books that encompass every aspect of the race for the title.
The official Formula 1 Season Review 2009 breaks down every race from Australia to Abu Dhabi and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the drama that unfolded.
What makes this book all the more absorbing is the stunning photography that accompanies every one of the 17 races. What’s more, there are more statistics than you can shake the proverbial dip-stick at to enable you to look like the most informed person in the pub.
If that is not enough and if you, like me, were pumped up by Jenson Button’s charge to the championship, then Jenson Button: A World Champion’s Story should go some way to sating your appetite. Chronicling his first tentative footsteps in the world of motor racing to the moment of his crowning glory, it is accompanied by photographs marking all the ups and downs the Briton has experienced in his bid to become the best.
Finally, The Brawn Story explains how Ross Brawn picked up the remnants of the Honda Formula One team and turned them into world champions in the space of a single season.
The word “rollercoaster” was never more aptly used than to describe the events of last season which ultimately ended on a supreme high for the sport’s mercurial master.
