THE music/showbiz industry seems easier to get into if it already runs in the family.
The daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus has already proved her worth with her alter ego Hannah Montana, Pam Tillis has emulated the success of dad, Mel, and Hank Williams Jnr followed in the footsteps of legendary Hank Williams Snr.
The road has been a little harder for Holly Williams, the granddaughter of Hank Williams. Her parents were separated but she attended shows and concerts with her dad and, at 17, opted for the piano rather her father's guitar and writing songs.
Musical influences came from The Rolling Stones, Elliot Smith and Neil Finn as she began performing. She signed for Universal South Records and toured with Billy Bob Thornton. Her debut album, The Ones We Never Knew, made little impact and she was dropped from the label. This year she signed with Mercury Nashville Records and produced her second album, Here With Me, and her first single, Keep The Change.
This album, which her grandfather would have been proud of, is now available in Britain and gives an insight into an artist I believe has lots more to offer.
