A truly glorious collection of writings marking the centenary of the birth of Jim Kilburn, for 40 years cricket correspondent of The Yorkshire Post and one of the most elegant chroniclers of the game.
The pre-one day game, that is, shorn of coloured clothing, cheerleaders, music, and, not least, yobbish fans only there for the beer.
This book is an elegy for the truly beautiful game, whose loss to the nation will only be fully appreciated when it has gone forever.
