Swirling snow
Hot pool macaques
Ephemeral hats
THIS traditional haiku verse by British biologist and award winning wildlife photographer Heather Angel was inspired by Japan’s iconic macaques, or snow monkeys.
Heather has traveled to Japan extensively to capture these fascinating and highly intelligent primates on film.
Simply called Snow Monkeys, her book is filled with 130 amazing colour photographs documenting the species’ unique characteristics, including bathing in natural thermal pools, grooming rituals, youngsters playing with snowballs and heart-warming shots of newborns with their mothers.
