On May 30, Matraca Berg, Suzy Bogguss and Gretchen Peters keep their 2007 promise to return to Sage Gateshead after enjoying two hours entertaining a packed audience.
Each has become known as a solo performer. Berg created hits for Nashville performers such as Randy Travis, Michelle Wright and Sweethearts Of The Rodeo, Reba McEntire's The Last One To Know and Deana Carter's number one single, Strawberry Winge, in 1997. Bogguss recorded Matraca's Eat At Joes on her Voices In The Wind album and can match that with her songwriting talent as well as co-writing with her husband, Doug Crider.
Peters' songwriting talent has delivered success for Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless, George Strait, Neil Diamond and Bryan Adams.
Her best-known song, Independence Day, recorded by Martina McBride, gave her the Country Music Association's accolade of Song Of The Year in 1994. Bearing all this in mind the girls will no doubt raise the roof again with a mix of songs they will present in solo and trio forms. I would hate you to miss a formidable trio of talent.
